Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at Freie Universität Berlin (Germany)
(co-ordinating institution)

The Berlin Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, headed by Prof. Dr. Michael Bolle, has been conducting research in the field of European economic policy-making, European integration and comparative studies since 1998. Its faculty, which includes a Jean Monnet Chair, and staff combines a widespread professional background in economics and political science, various fields of interests and experiences in research as well as in practical work.

Institute of Economics, University of Tartu (Estonia)

The Institute of Economics at the University of Tartu, directed by Prof. Tiiu Paas, is located at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration along with the Institute of Management and International Economy and the Institute of Finance and Accounting. With regard to research activities, the Institute of Economics covers five main sectors: Economic Theory, Econometrics, Statistics, Economic Policy and Public Economy.
Within these branches, the Institute focuses especially on various aspects of economic modelling of economic policy implications.

The Government Institute for Economic Research (VATT) is an applied economic research unit producing research data in support of economic policy decisions and discussion of alternative courses of action. Departemento de Economica (Portugal)

The University of Évora is a public higher education research centre, with a focus on several fields such as economics and business, agriculture, environment, physics, chemistry and engineering. It was founded in 1559, being the second oldest in Portugal, and it currently stands as the main higher education institution in the South. Institute for Economic Research (Slovenia)

The Institute for Economic Research is an autonomous non-governmental research organisation with a long tradition in the field of macroeconomic and microeconomic analysis. In the beginning, significant results were achieved in applying econometric methods and input-output methodology in macroeconomic analyses. Also, strategic studies at the regional and microeconomic levels were carried out. The growing awareness of the importance of entrepreneurship in the late eighties gave rise to new research topics, such as strategic planning, financial restructuring of enterprises and feasibility studies.
